Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar on Tuesday instructed revenue officials to extend hassle-free registration and mutation services to citizens through the Dharani portal as envisioned by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.

The Chief Secretary asked them to live up to the expectations of the Chief Minister in the successful implementation of the portal by providing services in a simple, transparent and speedy manner. He said registration and mutation would be done on the same day through Dharani and that the portal would become a trendsetter in the country.

Addressing a training programme for officials and staff of the Revenue and Registration Departments on Dharani here, Somesh Kumar said the Chief Minister would launch Dharani on October 29. Through a power-point presentation on the functioning of the portal, he covered various topics such as slot booking, citizen open portal, successor modules and partition modules. He also explained the roles and responsibilities of tahsildars and data entry operators.

The Chief Secretary observed that the role of the Revenue Department would increase manifold as they would, henceforth, function as joint sub-registrars. He urged revenue employees to work as a team and earn a good name to the government. The government, he said, was committed to resolving issues pertaining to the department.

Somesh Kumar said a State-level control room would be set up to address technical issues. Similarly, a district-level technical support team would resolve issues arising at that level. Necessary infrastructure should be in place at all the offices for the purpose, he added.

Roads and Buildings Principal Secretary Sunil Sharma, Disaster Management Secretary Rahul Bojja, Medchal Malkajgiri Collector V Venkateswarlu and others were present.
