Hyderabad: TRS MLA A Jeevan Reddy on Tuesday said the BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind could not step into any village in Nizamabad district if he failed to fulfil his election promise of setting up a turmeric board.
Responding to the clash between turmeric farmers and the BJP activists in Issapally village in Armur, Reddy, in a statement, said the BJP MP failed to take necessary steps to set up the board even after completion of three years of his election.
Terming the Central government as ‘anti-farmer’, Reddy sought to know as to why Arvind was not taking necessary steps to set up the board in the district. He said the BJP MP gave a bond paper and signed it promising that he would resign and fight in support of farmers if he failed to bring the turmeric board.
“What happened to this promise?” Reddy asked, accusing the BJP MP of deceiving farmers on the issue. To divert the attention of farmers, Arvind was making allegations against the TRS leaders. “We will not tolerate if Arvind continues to level allegations against us,” he said.
Reddy added that Arvind was making unnecessary remarks against the TRS to cover up his election promises.
