Dheeraj, Chaitra win Under-14 titles at Pragathi Chess tournament

Dheeraj Shankar and M Chaitra Sree clinched U-14 titles at the Pragathi Chess Foundation tournament, while Pranav Kolluru and Gujjari Sanvika emerged champions in the under-10 boys’ and girls’ sections

Hyderabad: Dheeraj Shankar and M Chaitra Sree won the boys’ and girls’ titles respectively in the under-14 category of the Pragathi Chess Foundation Children’s prize money chess tournament here on Tuesday.

Pranav Kolluru and Gujjari Sanvika won the boys’ and girls’ titles in the under-10 category.


Dr Ramachandra Rao, CMD of Biognosys Lab, Dr Prashanth, Ch M Chary, Sundarayya Bhavan Nirvana Committee convener, and K Srinivas Raju, organising secretary, gave away the prizes.

Final placings: Under-14: Boys: 1. Dheeraj Sankar, 2. L. Mahidhar, 3.Aranav Nandan, 4. Asritha Vathsala, 5. Padala Arav.

Girls: 1. M. Chaitra Sree, 2. A. Athira, 3. B. Vishnu Sreekruthi, 4. Aaradhya Nair, 5. Payyavula Lahari .

Under-10: Boys : 1. Pranav Kolluru, 2. V. Bhuvansai, 3. Vivaan Srivastava, 4. Y. Nivas Sai, 5. Vihaan Tej.

Girls: 1. Gujjari Sanvika, 2. Padala Roshita, 3. M. Rohi Sree, 4. Y. Krittika, 5. K. Varshini.
