Hyderabad: The Revanth Reddy government is drawing flak left, right and centre for its decision to clear the vegetation in 400 acres land inside University of Hyderabad (UoH) campus. YouTuber and educator Dhruv Rathee joined numerous politicians, celebrities, influencers and common citizens who are criticising the Congress government for clearing greenary in the name of development.

Responding to the social media outrage against the deployment of huge number of bulldozers inside the university campus, Dhruv Rathee called it is unacceptable. He demanded that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi should take action and get this destruction stopped in Telangana.

Taking to X, Dhruv Rathee shared a thread of posts posted by Telangana activist and entrepreneur Nayini Anurag Reddy who explained how 400 acres of Hyderabad’s wilderness was being destroyed to pave way for “development”. Anurag Reddy stated that the land which was home to 734 plant species, 220 bird species, deer, pythons and centuries old trees, was on the verge of destruction. He also posted how students protesting to protect the land, were thrashed by the police and sent to prison, while bulldozers razed the trees amid police protection in the dead of night.
