Riyadh: A day-long Indian cultural festival was organised in Saudi Arabia recently with scores of Indians, mostly students and nurses, in the Riyadh area enthralling the audience with their stunning performances of Indian cultural diversity.
DISHA, a premier pan-India NRI organisation in Saudi Arabia, organised a spectacular event with the theme ‘Chitranjali’ in Al Kharj near Riyadh, in which scores of NRI families from the Riyadh region participated.
UN World Tourism Organisation official Megha Paul was the chief guest of the event, which was inaugurated by senior Indian diplomat Y Sabir.
Kanakalal Devadas, national president of DISHA, delivered the keynote address where he briefed the audience about the activities of the organisation.
Commenting on the painting exhibition by children, Kanakalal said it was the need of the hour to provide a platform to young Indian talent abroad.
The organisers felicitated Indian nurses and also distributed certificates of success to children learning Karate.
DISHA Al Kharj president Dr Gopal Nambi presided over the function and Saju Areekal proposed a vote of thanks.
