TPCC president and MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy said both the BJP and the MIM were helping each other by polarising voters. "

Hyderabad: TPCC president and MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Thursday demanded that the Telangana State Election Commission (TSEC) disqualify the BJP and the AIMIM from contesting the GHMC elections for inciting communal hatred among people.

Uttam, addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday after releasing brochures and pamphlets on the contribution of the Congress governments to the development of Hyderabad and alleged failures of the TRS regime, said: “I am surprised how the SEC and the State government are not intervening to stop this provocative campaign,” he said.

He said both the BJP and the MIM were helping each other by polarising voters. “The MIM’s West Bengal unit president Anwar Pasha and Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have exposed the nexus between the two parties and Owaisi brothers’ secret meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. There are several instances to prove that both the BJP and the MIM are secret allies,” he said.

He also condemned State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar for his ‘surgical strike’ remarks. “I was born in the old city of Hyderabad. I belong to this city. In what way is Sanjay connected to Hyderabad or the old city?” he asked. The Congress chief also slammed MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi for his remarks on the memorials of former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao and former Chief Minister NT Rama Rao. “Where is the need for Owaisi to speak about their memorials?” he asked.

Further, Uttam alleged that the TRS and the BJP were also enacting the drama of rivalry to cheat voters. “When Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the State, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao praised him and said ‘Hamein sirf aapka pyar chahiye’ (we only want your love). Similarly, Akbaruddin praised the Chief Minister multiple times in the Assembly. It is not difficult for the people to understand that the TRS, the BJP and the MIM are one and the same,” he said.
