Khammam: The disquiet among senior Congress leaders in Khammam over lack of recognition seems to be unending and the leaders are now openly expressing their dissent.

The leaders who expected nominated posts but could not get them are taking to social media to share their grief.

Recently, the former chairman city Congress ST Cell, All India Banjara Seva Sangham district vice president, D Venkatarao Naik in a message posted on a WhatsApp group addressing Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said it was fair that the party leaders who struggled to strengthen the Congress party; fought with the previous ruling party and worked for his victory in elections were being ignored.

He complained that the Minister has been preventing senior leaders from getting positions while giving positions to those who joined the party along with him.

Many senior Congress leaders even spent crores of rupees to ensure that the Congress comes to power.

‘Real Congress’ party workers and leaders were sidelined while those who never carried the Congress flag; do not have the party membership and never staged a dharna were given priority, he said.

Naik, referring to a video call the Minister made on the night of July 1, 2023 sharing his plight while he was in the previous ruling party, said unable to see his pain many of the senior leaders have mobilised people by spending their own money for a meeting on July 2 in Khammam.

Even if the vehicles were not available on that day, the leaders and cadres walked to the meeting, he said while posing that was it fair to ignore such senior workers of the Congress party. Naik said he wrote the message with great pain.

Senior leaders like Bellam Seenu, Kishore Babu, Vaddeboina Narasa Rao, Deepak Chaudhary, Mohammed Javid, Dodda Ashok, Talluri Hanumantha Rao, Kotha Sitaramulu, Palakurthi Nageswara Rao, Dharawat Rammurthy Naik, Deepla Naik and other made many sacrifices.

The sulking Congress leader went on to say that troubling senior leaders and workers was not good and the situation was the same across Telangana. Finally Naik warned if the minister troubles a hard-working activist, he would be in trouble.
