Hyderabad: Hyderabad-based design-led Divami Design Labs, specialised in UX/UI design and design & development, is looking to expand its operations and offerings to cater to the growing demand from global markets.
The company has sales offices in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Delhi as well as in the US. Besides the US, the company is seeing a lot of projects from overseas markets such as Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, the UK and the Middle East.
Founded in 2008, Divami primarily helps organisations ideate, design and develop products and applications that enhance user experience. It further simplifies and humanises technology interactions of B2B and enterprise SaaS/cloud platforms, enterprise software, consumer apps, e-commerce and digital transformation. The company has a 80-member design team and plans to take the strength to over 200 in the next 1-2 years by also foraying into cities such as Bengaluru, Chennai and Delhi.
Multiple verticals
Divami has provided UX/UI design and development services for companies across a wide range of industries. It has designed and developed mobile applications, responsive web apps, TV applications and wearable apps. The team takes up user research, interaction design, UI design, development, user testing and functional testing for its clients.
The company has worked on projects including Airtel Consumer App with one million plus downloads, Tata Capital commercial loan management application, Cyient’s data intelligence platform, Medicopia’s award-winning doctors’ drug reference assistance application, Semantify NLP based analytics platform, Transworld Logistics booking and tracking app for freight consigners, Onemoney user experience design and platform development, and Quinn Smart Helmet IoT application design.
Prathima Inolu, executive director & chief designer, Divami Design Labs, told Telangana Today, “When Divami was established, we initially catered to the US market. Most of the work that we got was through referrals. The Indian market is also gradually evolving. From a stage where we had to tell the companies (during 2008-2010) why UX/UI design is important and what difference it can make (as the companies were primarily feature-driven), the industry has evolved to a position where the companies try to find out how their design strategy can be aligned with their business strategy to become market leaders.”
Focus on user experience
“Our primary focus has been enterprise SaaS platforms though we have been involved in application development and digital transformation projects as well. Not only large enterprises, we have also worked with several small and medium businesses. Every sector is seeing disruption. Companies want to improve their market reach and be different from the rest of the competitors. Customers are looking for unique experiences and creating moments. We ensure that the customer’s experience on the application is seamless and enjoyable,” she added.
About 15 years ago, the UX/UI design was more the choice for B2C applications, but now even the B2B and B2G are also looking for design support to improve the overall user experience of end-users. There is a clear shift in entrepreneurs towards design. Not only businesses, social enterprises also are looking for UX/UI design. Governments are also equally keen.
“In design, we focus on interaction design (aligning business goals and user expectations) and visual design. Besides UX/UI design, Divami also does design and development as well as taking care of integrating the front and the backend of applications. We have also taken up projects where we have redesigned applications by personalising them to meet user expectations so that they are not lost in the application. We know personalisation is more important than customisation,” she added.
