Do you agree with Pak cricketer Abdul Razzaq’s comment on Indian cricket?

Hyderabad: With the much-awaited ICC Men’s T20 World Cup just days away and India set to begin their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan, former Pak all-rounder Abdul Razzaq ruffled a few feathers.

The former cricketer said that Pakistan is a much superior cricketing nation and has more talent than the Virat Kohli-led side. India and Pakistan stopped playing in bilateral series owing to the tense situation between the two countries and gsvr each other only in the ICC events.

Speaking during a talk show on television, Razzaq said, “Do India have the kind of pace bowlers or all-rounders like Pakistan, or do you feel there is no match?. I don’t think India can compete with Pakistan. The kind of talent Pakistan has is entirely different, and this I don’t think is a good thing for cricket that India and Pakistan are not having matches.”

India will take on Pak on October 24 in Dubai to kick off their campaign in the World Cup. Hyderabad cricketers hit out at Razzaq saying that India enjoyed superior results over the rivals in all ICC events. Team India has 5-0 lead over arch-rivals Pakistan across all editions of the T20 World Cup and the Men in Blue never lost a match in ODI World Cups as well.

Former Hyderabad Ranji captain Akshath Reddy dismissed the Pak cricketer’s claims. “I think the results clearly show how well India is doing in all the formats compared to Pakistan. He talking about talent in India is really funny because India is at a stage where it can field two teams for any ICC event but Pakistan is not able to field even a single team which is capable of winning any ICC event,” said Akshath.

Hyderabad Ranji team bowling mainstay and former Indian under-19 World Cup cricketer CV Milind opined, “I feel that definitely Pakistan have good talent of fast bowling and all-rounders but definitely India has a much superior bench compared to them. It clearly shows in the performances of our international team winning away Tests. We have beaten Australia and England and they haven’t done anything of that sort recently. Even in ODIs and T20Is India are a much better side than Pakistan. So I would disagree with Mr Razzaq,” quipped the southpaw.

Meanwhile, all-rounder T Ravi Teja added, “We have Hardik (Pandya) who has performed and scored a century and picked up 5 wickets in a Test which no Pakistani fast bowling all-rounder has done in the recent Test history and then we have Shardul (Thakur) who performed brilliantly with bat and bowl. They can say whatever they want. With all due respect no one can compare themselves with India. We are much above them. IPL and PSL are the true examples. Period.”
