Nalgonda: Dr Jayasheel Reddy, working in a private hospital on Devarakonda road in Nalgonda, went missing from his agriculture field since Monday morning.
The incident created a flutter in the district since Dr Jayasheel Reddy is a close relative of LB Nagar MLA D Sudheer Reddy. It is suspected that Dr Reddy may have committed suicide by jumping into an open well adjacent to his field due to depression. The water from the well was being pumped out to facilitate search.
The 42-year-old Jayasheel Reddy went to his agriculture field at Mella Duppalapally, about 10 km from Nalgonda town, on Monday morning. After stepping down from the car at the field, he asked the driver to park the vehicle in a shed and wait there.
He sent photographs of an overflowing pond at the field to his maternal uncle Komatireddy Vinod Reddy through WhatsApp at 8.45 am. His phone was switched off from 9.20 am. Following this, Vinod Reddy rushed to the spot but could not find Dr Jayasheel Reddy anywhere.
Vinod Reddy immediately alerted Nalgonda Rural police who rushed to the spot and took up search. Fire department personnel also took up search operations in the open well located near his agriculture field.
Nalgonda Rural Sub-Inspector Rajasekhar Reddy said Dr Jayasheel Reddy spoke with his mother at 8.14 am for a few minutes. Dr Reddy had booked tickets to travel to the US this week, but was disinclined to travel. He was single.
