Hyderabad: Surgeons at neurosurgical institute, Yashoda Group of Hospitals, Secunderabad on Thursday said that two patients from Kamareddy, 34-year-old Chiranjeevi and 36-year-old Sucharita, who had sustained severe brain injuries in separate road accidents and were in very critical condition, have made full recovery.

Last September, Chiranjeevi was admitted to the hospital with grievous head injuries sustained in a road accident. At the specialised neurosurgical institute, he was diagnosed with severe brain haemorrhage and the neuro team successfully conducted the surgery and stopped internal bleeding. He recovered within a short time, senior neurosurgeon, Department of Neurosurgery, Dr B.J. Rajesh said.

Sucharitha, a resident of Bhanswada, Kamareddy, who also sustained serious head injuries in a road accident, was first taken to a local hospital and later rushed to Yashoda Hospital for emergency treatment.

Doctors intervened by doing emergency surgeries to control the bleeding in the brain and save her life. Once stabilized, she was taken up for spine surgery by the neurosurgery and spine team and was operated for the severe spinal injury. Despite multiple surgeries, the patient recovered remarkably within a short period of time, senior doctors said.

The neuro team at Yashoda Hospitals, Secunderabad also announced completion of 1000 complex brain surgeries on road accident trauma victims.
