Hyderabad: The Doctors team emerged victorious in the Covid Warriors Cricket Cup conducted at Ekta Sports Ground, Janwada near Shankarpally here on Sunday. The matches were conducted to uplift the spirit of Covid warriors from their stressful work.

Rajya Sabha MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar felicitated the winners and other participants on the occasion. He also planted saplings along with the team members.


The tournament was conducted between Doctor’s team, captained by Karthikeya, Civil Services Officer’s team led by Sumit Sharma, and film actor’s team which was captained by actor Tarun.

The Film actors team consisted of Nikhil, Sandeep Kishan, Shiva Reddy, Taman, Prince Raj Tarun and others, while Doctors team included Nitin, Kiran, Ramamohan, Sharath and others. Yakil Chand, Ravi Kiran, Chakravarthy and others were part of Civil Services Officers’s team.

The winning team donated Rs.2 lakh rupees from the Rs.4 lakhs prize money they had received to Acharya Srinivas’s NGO, which promotes vegetarianism, said a press release.
