Hyderabad: Dolby Laboratories hosted an exclusive showcase of the Varanasi teaser, presenting it in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos at Annapurna Studios on March 31, 2026.
The event offered opportunity to experience advanced visual and audio technologies designed to enhance storytelling. Dolby Vision delivers ultra-vivid colours, sharper contrast and enhanced detail, while Dolby Atmos creates a multidimensional soundscape by placing audio around the listener, resulting in a more immersive experience.
In collaboration with Annapurna Studios, the showcase demonstrated how these technologies work together to elevate cinematic content across platforms, including theatres, homes and mobile environments.
A key highlight of the event was the integration of the teaser inside the Mahindra XUV 7XO, billed as India’s first car to feature both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. The demonstration illustrated how cinema-grade audio-visual experiences can extend into in-car entertainment systems.
Mahindra & Mahindra emphasised its focus on innovation in automotive entertainment by incorporating Dolby Atmos into its vehicles, enabling users to experience immersive sound on the move without compromising quality or depth.
The event also included a discussion featuring industry experts such as Andreas Bruckl (Colorist), Kannan Ganapath (Mix Engineer), and C V Rao, Chief Technology Officer at Annapurna Studios. The panel shared insights into the creative and technical processes behind the teaser and highlighted how Dolby technologies enhance storytelling from post-production to final playback.
The showcase featured a structured experience flow, including a screening of the teaser, an expert interaction session, and a live in-car demonstration, offering attendees a comprehensive understanding of immersive storytelling.
