Domestic help, her aide land behind bars for stealing golden ornaments after watching YouTube videos

Adilabad: A domestic help, who drew inspiration to open lockers by watching a video on YouTube, and her friend were arrested for allegedly decamping with golden ornaments weighing 50 grams and Rs 45,000 from her employer’s house here on Thursday evening. A bracelet, two gold chains and cash were recovered from their possession.
Briefing details of the arrests to the media persons, Adilabad DSP L Jeevan Reddy said that Kota Mamatha from Oguru village in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh and her friend Irfan, a welder from Ghatkesar of Ranga Reddy district were apprehended for stealing the ornaments and cash by breaking open a locker of her employer Jabu Thirupathi, a fertilizer trader at Rickshaw Colony in the town on March 10.

She disclosed that she came into contact with Irfan while she was working with another employer in Hyderabad in the past.
Thirupathi realized that his property was stolen when he opened the locker on March 17. He lodged a complaint with police who registered a case and took up investigations.
Jeevan Reddy commended Adilabad II town Inspector Karunakar Rao, crime party staffers Ramesh, Babitha and Rukma Reddy for solving the case.
