Domestic helper arrested in Hyderabad Instagram sextortion case

Jubilee Hills Police arrested a domestic helper for allegedly aiding an Instagram-based sextortion racket targeting a minor girl. The accused reportedly shared victim details with the mastermind and extorted ₹9 lakh. Several arrests have been made as investigation continues.

Hyderabad: A domestic helper has been arrested by Jubilee Hills Police in connection with the recent Instagram-based extortion and sextortion case involving a minor girl.

The suspect woman, identified as Saraswati, was employed at the victim’s residence and allegedly shared personal details about the girl with the prime suspect, K Chandrasekhar Azad alias Arjun.

Police alleged she remained in contact with Arjun over the phone and helped him gain information about the teenager.

According to police, Saraswati also allegedly threatened to disclose the minor’s friendship with Arjun to her parents and extorted Rs 9 lakh from the victim.

The case came to light after the arrest of Arjun, who is accused of masterminding an Instagram-based racket that targeted minor girls from wealthy families.

He allegedly used social media to befriend victims, lure them with displays of luxury, and later blackmail them using compromising videos.

Police have so far arrested Arjun, his family members, and several associates as part of the ongoing investigation.

Officials said further inquiries are underway to identify others linked to the extortion network.
