Hyderabad: As the BRS gears up for its grand silver jubilee anniversary celebrations, voluntary donations are pouring in from across Telangana. Party leaders, workers, and well-wishers are contributing towards the upcoming Warangal public meeting.
On Tuesday, party Medchal district president and MLC Shambipur Raju met BRS working president KT Rama Rao at his Nandi Nagar residence and donated Rs 6 lakh towards the celebrations. Subhash, head of One Soft System, also handed over a Rs 1 lakh cheque to Rama Rao on the occasion.
Earlier in the day, the BRS working president also released the “Chalo Warangal” poster at his residence, ahead of the party’s 25th anniversary public meeting. He was joined by Medchal district president Shambipur Raju, Quthbullapur MLA KP Vivekananda Goud, and Malkajgiri Lok Sabha in-charge Ragidi Lakshma Reddy.
Meanwhile, Rama Rao met the Lagacherla tribals, including Banjara women who were allegedly assaulted in the middle of the night and the men who were arrested for an alleged attack on the district collector and other officials during a public hearing to acquire their lands.
The meeting comes in the wake of the National Human Rights Commission issuing notices to the Telangana government and police for the reported illegal detentions. Rama Rao assured them of support and said the BRS stands firmly with those fighting for justice.
