HYDERABAD: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has urged the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) not to permit the appointment of V Venkat Yadav, brother of Congress candidate V Naveen Yadav, as Chief Election Agent or Election Agent in the Jubilee Hills by-election.
The party also urged the CEO C Sudarshan Reddy to place Congress candidate’s father V Srisailam Yadav and his brother V Ramesh under close surveillance before and on the polling day to prevent any political disturbance. The party wanted the security deployment to be strengthened in sensitive localities known to be under their influence.
In this regard, former TSTTCFCL chairman P Ravi Kumar Goud, former TRICOR Chairman Eslavath Ramchander Naik, former Telangana Tourism Chairman Gellu SrinivasYadav, former BC Commission Member Kishore Kumar Goud and others submitted two separate representations to the CEO on Monday.
Considering the criminal background of Srisailam Yadav, immediate preventive and precautionary measures should be taken against the above individuals to ensure peaceful elections in the constituency, they said. They also appealed the CEO to issue instructions to concerned Station House Officer to submit a compliance report on the preventive steps undertaken.
