Door-to-door distribution of Bathukamma sarees to begin in Yadadri-Bhongir

Yadadri-Bhongir: Arrangements have been made by the district authorities for door to door distribution of 2,59,800 bathukamma sarees to eligible women in Yadadri-Bhongir district.
District Collector Anitha Ramachandran said it was targeted to distribute Bathukamma sarees to 2,59,800 in the district. The district has already received 2,45,000 bathukamma sarees and the remaining 14,000 would be delivered in two or three days. Bathukamma sarees have been stocked at the Choutuppal textile park, Tahsildar’s Office at Mothkur, indoor stadium at Alair and SLNS College in Bhongir for distribution. Arrangements have also been completed to supply bathukamma sarees to mandal level points.
She made it clear that no meeting should be conducted in towns and villages for distribution of bathukamma sarees. After the Bathukamma sarees are despatched to village points, door to door distribution would be taken up by local officials from October 9. She also instructed the officials to involve elected representatives in door to door distribution of bathukamma sarees. Ration shop-wise list of eligible women to get bathukamma sarees was already supplied to the village level officials
She informed that District Rural Development Officer Upender Reddy would monitor the distribution of bathukamma saree in the district. Village level, mandal level and divisional level committees were also set up to ensure smooth distribution of bathukamma sarees.
