Dowry a dangerous disease: Rachakonda CP

He termed dowry as a dangerous disease and said they were planning to create awareness among citizens on it.

Hyderabad: Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat on Tuesday paid tributes to Swami Vivekananda on his 158th birth anniversary at Sakhi OSC (One Stop Centre) at Medchal-Malkajgiri district. On the occasion, Mahesh Bhagwat who was the chief guest spoke on different provisions available under the Domestic Violence Act and assured all the support to whosoever needs it.

He also said that taking the inspiration from Swami Vivekananda, the staff of Sakhi OSC must positively continue their work in supporting women and children. He termed dowry as a dangerous disease and said they were planning to create awareness among citizens on it. “Giving and accepting dowry is a crime,” the Commissioner said. Support agency head Padmavathi was also present.
