Hyderabad: Global smart logistics provider DP World has confirmed that it will continue its partnership with the DP World India Championship until 2035. The announcement comes ahead of the second edition of the $4 million tournament, which offers the largest prize fund ever for a DP World Tour event in India.
The extension aligns with DP World’s broader support for the DP World Tour under a new partnership agreement announced last year. The agreement, the largest in the Tour’s history, extended DP World’s role as Title Partner and Official Logistics Partner until 2035.
The original title partnership, which began in 2022 and saw the European Tour renamed the DP World Tour, has helped make golf more inclusive and better connected.
As a company reshaping the future of global trade, DP World is well placed to support a tournament of this scale. Its network of ports, terminals, logistics operations and technology across six continents helps move the people, equipment and infrastructure required to stage elite golf events. The DP World Tour season features 42 events across 25 countries.
Yuvraj Narayan, Group Chief Executive Officer of DP World, said, “India is one of the most important markets in global trade, and we want to be here for the long term. Extending our support of the DP World India Championship to 2035 puts it alongside our title partnership of the DP World Tour for the next decade. In two editions, this tournament has brought the world’s best golfers to Delhi and given Indian players the chance to compete with them at home. Together with our partnership of the DP World PGTI, it gives the next generation a clear path to the very top of the game, and we’re proud to keep building on that.”
Spaniard Eugenio Chacarra held on to his lead at the Lotus Trophy in the DP World India Championship to secure his third victory of a remarkable 2026 season on the DP World Tour. The triumph also propelled him to the top of the Race to Dubai Rankings delivered by DP World.
Chacarra completed a marathon day at the Delhi Golf Club, playing 25 holes at the US$4 million tournament, co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and the DP World Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), despite carrying a broken toe into the week.
He completed his seven remaining holes from the third round in five under par, with three birdies and a closing eagle. This gave him a five-shot lead heading into the final round, which began soon after the third round concluded.
Chacarra’s rounds of 67, 67, 63 and 70 gave him a total of 21-under par, one stroke short of Tommy Fleetwood’s aggregate in 2025. Overall, he carded 24 birdies and one eagle against five bogeys.
New Zealand’s Daniel Hillier finished second at 19-under par, two shots behind Chacarra, after closing with a 67. A brilliant charge on the back nine saw Hillier cut Chacarra’s lead, which had once stood at six shots, to just two late in the final round, piling on the pressure. However, Chacarra held his nerve to claim the title.
Anirban Lahiri (70-73-69-68) bounced back from a disappointing performance at the event in 2025 to emerge as the best-placed Indian, finishing tied 23rd at eight-under par 280 after a bogey-free final round.
