To inculcate a spirit of giving and sharing and to make the children aware of the less fortunate in the society like every year Delhi Public School, Mahendra Hills celebrated “Joy of Giving Week.” Few selected staff members visited St. Joseph’s Orphanage, Amberpet and spent some time with the children, providing them the feeling of togetherness and bonding of a family. The school also organised an online cultural programme to bring a smile to their faces.
They were amazed to watch programme streaming live. It was a sheer joy to see the happiness on the faces of the children during cake cutting which they relished the most. Teachers from the music department played some of their favourite tracks to dance and merry. Kindling the spirit of love and compassion for the less fortunate, the event witnessed the young philanthropic students, teachers and staff sending clothes, books, stationery items, water bottles, lunch boxes and toys to the underprivileged children which we handed over to them with love and affection.
Principal Sunitha Rao addressed the children and added that to get the full value of joy you must have someone to share it with. Truly giving from the heart fills our life with joy and nourishes our soul. Giving provides an intrinsic reward that’s far more valuable than the gift, she added.
