World Photography Day was celebrated by the students of Grades XI and XII to acknowledge the spirit of this art. The activities revolved around the history of photography and the significance of the day through a special assembly and Inter-House competitions.
A short video on ‘The History and Evolution of Photography’ and an informative documentary on ‘Evolution of Camera Technology’ were presented to enlighten the students. The theme of the day was expounded wonderfully through a role-play on camera usage suggestions. An informative quiz charmed the audience.
Principal Sunitha Rao said the event was a fascinating idea to introduce students to the various facets of photography and it was in line with school values. The senior vice-principal shared her passion for photography and quoted that photos remind us of memorable moments.
An Inter-house Photography Competition was conducted to bring out the hidden talent of photography in the students where students were asked to share their creative clicks. A video portraying all the entries was a feast to eyes. The entries were judged based on originality, style and photographic vision. The event concluded with the announcement results of the competition. The first prize was shared by two students of grade XII – Apoorva and Mihika.
The event was well coordinated by Geography PGT Atul who is also an ace photographer.
