Dr Jitendra Singh launches innovative animal health technologies in Hyderabad
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh unveiled innovative animal health technologies developed by NIAB Hyderabad under BRIC. He also inaugurated India’s first Animal Stem Cell Biobank, aimed at boosting livestock productivity, improving animal health, and supporting farmers’ livelihoods

Hyderabad: A set of breakthrough technologies developed by the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB), Hyderabad, a premier institute under the Department of Biotechnology’s Biotechnology Research Innovation Council (BRIC), was unveiled by Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, Dr Jitendra Singh, on Saturday.
On the occasion, Dr Singh also inaugurated the nation’s first Animal Stem Cell Biobank, a state-of-the-art facility that will store and preserve high-quality stem cells from various animal species.
The Union Minister said these field-ready and affordable innovations will play a crucial role in improving animal health, increasing livestock productivity, and securing farmers’ livelihoods.
Director General, BRIC, Dr Rajesh S Gokhale, NIAB Director Dr G Taru Sharma, and others participated.
