Dr P Raghu Ram becomes first doctor to receive Distinguished Alumnus Award from KMC Mangalore
Dr P Raghu Ram was honoured as the first doctor to receive KMC Mangalore's Distinguished Alumnus Award. He encouraged youth to adopt villages and improve healthcare. He also gave awards to outstanding students and faculty
Hyderabad: Dr P Raghu Ram, Founding Director of KIMS-USHALAKSHMI Centre for Breast Diseases in Hyderabad, achieved the distinction to become the first doctor to be conferred the Distinguished Alumnus Award in the 70-year history of Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore.
The recognition was bestowed upon him by Prof H S Ballal, Pro-Chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), during the Platinum Jubilee College Day celebrations held at TMA Pai International Convention Centre in Mangalore.
In his address, Dr Raghu Ram outlined his fulfilling experience of having adopted a remote village in Telangana and appealed to the younger generation to also adopt a village in addition to contributing towards improving medical care in our motherland.
Dr Raghu Ram also presented certificates of appreciation and gold medals to various award recipients, which included undergraduate and postgraduate students and faculty at KMC Mangalore for the year 2024.
