Khammam: Stambhadri Urban Development Authority’s (SUDA) Draft Master Plan was ready, stated SUDA Chairman Bachu Vijay Kumar. The Centre for Symbiosis of Technology, Environment and Management (STEM) has conducted primary surveys such as existing land use surveys, socio-economic surveys, traffic surveys as part of the geographic information system-based (GIS) Draft Master Plan proposals.
The compilation of primary and secondary data, as well as analysis of such data, has been completed. It has been decided to conduct the first consultative stakeholders’ workshop with public representatives, line department officials, NGO’s and others in the next week, Vijay Kumar said on Tuesday.
Every aspect related to the city’s growth in the next 20 years, in terms of infrastructure facilities and population needs, has been incorporated in the Draft. The Master Plan covers an area of 536 square kilometres in 46 villages in eight mandals in Khammam, Wyra, Palair and Madhira Assembly constituencies and Khammam Municipal Corporation (KMC), he noted.
The existing Master Plan of KMC covers 33 square kilometres in which that the data related to industrial, residential, commercial, recreation zones and roads was unrealistic. Now, changes have been made in the Draft Master Plan wherever it was required, he added.
