Hyderabad: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized 2.2 kilograms of gold from a person, who was employed with a catering company engaged in serving food in aircrafts.
Acting on a tip off, the DRI Hyderabad unit team caught the person while he was carrying two gold bars weighing one kilogram each and another two gold sheets weighing 100 gram each, all valued at Rs. 1.9 crore.

“The man is an employee of an airplane catering service and involved in smuggling. During the unloading or loading of food trays from aircraft, the suspect would retrieve the concealed gold from the aircraft and carry it out,” the officials maintained.
The man is arrested and an investigation is going on.
