Drones by Airserve to deliver medicines, vaccines to PHCs in Vikarabad from June 22

Karimnagar: Airserve, a Hyderabad- based and innovative start-up in the customised drone and autonomous aerial services, is all set to launch the supply of medicines and vaccines by using the drones on a pilot basis in Vikarabad from June 22 and later extend the services in all the districts of the Telangana state.

The Airserve initiatives, featured in Silicon India magazine as one of the top 10 Drone service providers of 2021, was one among the seven consortia selected by the State Government for the project ‘Medicine from the sky”. The Ministry of Civil Aviation and Directorate General of Civil Aviation have already granted permission to conduct Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) deliveries for vaccines, medicines, blood etc.
Aniketh Madhusudhan, Director of Airserve, said that the Airserve’s medical multi-rotor UAV was their product for last-mile healthcare deliveries. The UAVs equipped with 4G LTE modules and a payload capacity of 3.5 kg can reduce last-minute delivery times by over 5X. “We built UAVs which are equipped with a temperature-controlled medical box, to safely transport vaccines etc”, he said adding that the UAVs are streamlined with a custom-built application that provides live location updates using the 4G module and a simple user interface to control the Drone’s take-off and landing locations automatically.
The aim of the medicines from the sky project is to assess an alternate logistics route in providing safe, accurate and reliable pickup and delivery of health care items (medicines, Covid vaccines, and units of blood, diagnostic specimens and other life saving equipment) from the distribution centre to a specific location and back.
He said that the Airserve had also come up with first of its kind product for the police to use the cellular-connected UAVs which help monitor crowd from a single command and control centre. The team at Airserve successfully demonstrated the technology along with Rajanna-Sircilla district police during the first phase of lockdown and unlock period last year in Sircilla textile town.
Airserve is also offering T-BIRDS (building inspection and reporting using drones) to eliminate construction irregularities by enabling municipalities to identify violations. The Airserve’s T-MINR (Mine inspection and reporting solution) enables the government agencies to ensure compliance while ensuring the safety of the mining site.
