Hyderabad: Four persons who were involved in drug trafficking were arrested by the Rachakonda police on Tuesday. The police seized 38 grams of cocaine, Rs. 22,000 cash, three motorcycles, four mobile phones and a digital weighing machine.
The arrested persons are identified as Mark Owolabi (41) of Banjara Hills and a native of Nigeria, Thoda Harshavardhan (21) degree final year student, Duddu Pavan Kumar (21) and G Swami Prasad (23), all resident of Neredmet. One of their associate Abhishek Singh is absconding.
Rachakonda Police Commissioner, Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat, said the kingpin Mark came to India in 2012 on a business visa and started exporting fabrics to his country.
“Mark along with his associates was supplying cocaine to the customers for a price of Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000 a gram. He was sourcing the cocaine through a contact in New Delhi regularly,” he said.
Previously, Mark was arrested by the Cyberabad police and the Prohibition and Excise department sleuths in drug trafficking related cases. However, he continued with his activities after coming out of jail.
Efforts are on to nab the other persons who are absconding and identify those regularly buying the drug from this group.
