Drunk driving checks: Cyberabad police catch 296, Hyderabad 399

Cyberabad and Hyderabad traffic police booked over 690 people during weekend drunk driving checks on Saturday night. Most offenders were two-wheeler riders. Several drivers recorded dangerously high alcohol levels and will be produced before the court.

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police caught 259 persons during a weekend drunk driving check on Saturday night.

Among those caught are 231 two-wheeler riders, 17 three-wheeler drivers, 47 four-wheeler drivers, and a heavy vehicle driver. The BAC count of 11 persons was recorded between 301 mg/100 ml and 550 mg/100 ml. Cases are booked against all of them and they will have to appear before the court, said Cyberabad traffic police.


In Hyderabad, the traffic police booked 399 persons during drunk driving checks on Saturday night. Among those caught are two-wheeler 321, three-wheeler 31, and four-wheeler 47. All the persons who are caught during the checking will be produced before the court, said Hyderabad traffic police.
