Drunk man tries to swim in Manjeera; drowns

Naresh, who was a driver, had a party with friends and went into the water in inebriated state

Sangareddy: A man, who ventured into the Manjeera dam to swim in an inebriated condition, drowned on Sunday. Officials roped in expert divers and made a 48 hour effort to retrieve the body on Tuesday.

Myathari Naresh (30) of Andole, who was residing in Isnapur, used to work as a driver. He had arrived at the dam and had a party with friends on Sunday when he stepped into the water, allegedly in an inebriated condition, and drowned.

He was survived by his wife and a child. The police have registered a case.
