Medak: Dubbak MLA Kotha Prabhakar Reddy has demanded that the government release Rs 25,000 compensation per acre in various villages of Narsingi and Chegunta mandals.
Speaking after inspecting the damages in Karnalapally, Makkarajpet, Gollapally, Rampur and Kanyaram villages on Saturday, the Dubbak MLA said that the farmers have suffered crop losses multiple times during the last one year. However, Reddy said that the Congress government failed to keep its promises.
He further said that the tenant farmers were worst affected since they also paid rent for the land, but they could not get anything in the end. Reddy accused the Congress of pushing the farmers into crisis by denying Rythu Bharosa, loan waiver, compensation and insurance.
The BRS MLA demanded that the government release compensation to farmers to provide immediate relief. Crops in over 5,000 acres were damaged across Medak due to recent hailstorms and gales. SC, ST Commission Chairman Bakki Venkataiah and others were present.
