Karimnagar: Finance Minister T Harish Rao came down heavily on the BJP-led union government over rising fuel prices. In the last one year, the price of diesel has increased to Rs 100 from Rs 70, imposing a huge burden on farmers. Besides completely abolishing subsidy on LPG cylinder, the prices of petrol, diesel, and cooking gas have been enhanced frequently, he said.
The Central government would hike LPG cylinder price to Rs 1,500 from Rs 1,000 if BJP candidate is elected in Huzurabad bypoll, the Minister opined while participating in the election campaign in Vanthadupula and Patharlapalli of Illanthakunta mandal on Saturday.
Talking about the Dalit Bandhu scheme, Harish Rao informed that a similar kind of scheme would be introduced to provide benefit to all other communities on the lines of the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme. Initially, Kalyana Lakshmi was introduced to provide financial assistance for the marriage of poor Dalit women and later, it was extended to all other communities. Similarly, Dalit Bandhu would also be extended to other communities in a phased manner. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had also announced the same in the Assembly recently.
While the State government was planning to extend Dalit Bandhu to all, Harish Rao said BJP leaders were spreading false propaganda stating that the government would not extend the scheme to all Dalits. At the same time, other community people were also being provoked by BJP leaders, the Minister accused. The Chief Minister has given top priority to BJP leader Eatala Rajender by considering the latter as his brother. However, Rajender backstabbed Chandrashekhar Rao as well as TRS, he said, asking the people to teach a befitting lesson to the BJP leader.
Harish Rao said the Chief Minister had sanctioned 4,000 houses to each Minister. While all the Ministers completed the construction and performed house warming ceremonies, there was no such activity in Huzurabad. Rajender was the only Minister, who had not completed a single house. He promised to construct 4,000 houses in Huzurabad if TRS candidate Gellu Srinivas Yadav was elected. All eligible people, who have their own house sites, would be provided Rs 5 lakh for the construction of houses. The Chief Minister had also announced it in the Assembly recently, he reminded.
Referring to Rajender’s statement that Kalyana Lakshmi and Aasara pensions would not fulfil the needs of the common public, the Minister wanted the people to put an end to the BJP in Huzurabad bypoll. Despite the Covid pandemic, the Chief Minister released Rs 7,500 crore towards Rythu Bandhu and deposited the amount in the bank accounts of the farmers. That was the commitment of Chandrashekhar Rao towards the farming community, he added.
Farm loans up to Rs 25,000 was already waived and waiver of loan amount up to Rs 50,000 is under progress. Loan amount up to Rs 1 lakh would be waived by Ugadi, the Minister assured. While the Telangana government was providing everything to farmers and the public, BJP was trying to lure the voters by distributing liquor. Farmers should think whether they would get benefit from Kaleshwaram water or liquor bottles. He accused the Central government of selling railway stations, airports, BSNL, LIC and other public sector undertakings. In order to create confusion among voters, Rajender encouraged 60 persons to file their nominations to contest the Huzurbad bypoll, the Minister said and asked people to exercise their franchise on car symbol.
