Hyderabad: Former Minister Eatala Rajender is likely to join the BJP in a week after returning to the city from New Delhi.
He is presently taking legal opinion on issues he may face in case he submits his resignation as MLA as he was facing a probe for forcibly taking away lands from villagers in Hakeempet and Atchampet. Since Monday, he has been meeting senior BJP leaders in New Delhi and seeking their advice.
Telangana BJP leaders said Rajender will also be meeting with BJP national general secretary (organization) BL Santosh. They said as per party norms, Rajender will have to resign before joining BJP.
Meanwhile, State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar said the party is the ideal platform for protagonists of Telangana and that it would support them in their cause.
Interacting with press persons after hoisting the national flag at the party headquarters on the occasion of Telangana State Formation Day, Sanjay said the party had taken a series of initiatives to help the needy during pandemic.
