Hyderabad: As electioneering came to an end in the Huzurabad constituency on Wednesday, BJP candidate Eatala Rajender made an attempt to strike an emotional chord with voters of the constituency and claimed that he was victimised in the TRS. He stated that it was up to the people to elect or defeat him. If elected, he vowed to wage an agitation against Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to protect democracy.

“I will become a voice for the poor and protect ethics and values. Human values are great. We can buy everything, but not people. It is also not possible to fix a price to one’s self-respect. Nobody can dictate anyone. Chandrashekhar Rao tried to dictate it. To protect myself from it, I’m seeking your blessings,” Rajender urged the people while concluding his poll campaign at Ambedkar Chowk.

Rajender claimed that his tiff with the Chief Minister was seven years old after he was inducted into the State Cabinet for the first time. He stated that he was humiliated by denying entry into Pragathi Bhavan when he, along with other MLAs, went to meet the Chief Minister. By denying him the Minister’s post for three months after the TRS came to power for the second term, he claimed that the Chief Minister humiliated the entire Telangana people.

Rajender tried to blame the Chief Minister for the former’s failure to construct the double bedroom houses in the Huzurabad constituency. But, he did not explain what prompted him from quitting the TRS earlier despite humiliating him as well as the people of Telangana State.

The former Minister claimed that he was backstabbed by none other than the Chief Minister and termed the land encroachment charges as a conspiracy against him. He admitted that he resigned to his MLA post and quit the TRS upon being removed from the Minister’s post.

Talking about developmental works taking place in Huzurabad and Jammikunta towns, the BJP leader said TRS leaders were trying to get credit for works that were sanctioned by him earlier. He alleged that the TRS leaders were spreading propaganda against him on social media by creating fake letters. He claimed that the TRS was planning to distribute Rs 20,000 per vote, despite the strong presence of Central paramilitary forces.
