Karimnagar: TPCC official spokesperson and Huzurabad constituency in-charge, Padi Koushik Reddy alleged that former Minister Eatala Rajender had purchased 140 acres of land in violation of the Land Ceiling Act. According to the land ceiling act, a family should not have more than 50 acres land. However, in Devarayamjal of Shamirpet madal, Rajender owned 13.9 acres land, 47.21 acres was registered on the name of his wife Jamuna and 8.35 acres on the name of his son Nithin Reddy.
In Achampet, Jamuna owned 36 acres, and 31.25 acres was registered on the name of Nithin Reddy while Rajender owned four acres land in Pudur of Medchal district, he alleged, challenging Rajender to disclose who bought the lands.
“Was Rajender, who got elected as MLA for six times and worked as Minister, not aware of the Land Ceiling Act? he questioned and wanted the government to seize the lands and distribute them to the poor by following Land Ceiling Act norms. Otherwise, the Congress party would erect flags in the lands and distribute it to the poor.
Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, he also charged that many other pieces of land were registered in the name of benamis like Suri, Sudhakar Reddy and Keshav Reddy. The government should conduct a survey and make the information public, he said.
Kaushik Reddy alleged that in all, Rajender owned about 700 acres of land in and around Hyderabad, but he had claimed that he owned only 200 acres of land. The government should order a CBI probe into the lands owned by Rajender.
Claiming that he collected the information from government’s official website Dharani Portal, Kaushik Reddy charged that Rajender purchased Hatcheries land from one Siddi Rama Rao by creating fake documents.
