Peddapalli: Telangana Boggu Ghani Karmika Sangham (TBGKS) members on Saturday burnt the effigies of former Minister Eatala Rajender across the coal belt area for criticising TBGKS honorary president and MLC K Kavitha.
TBGKS leaders led by Ramagundam region-I vice-president Gandra Damodar Rao burnt the effigy in Godavarikhani chowrasta. The protestors raised slogans against the former Minister and warned that they would teach him a befitting lesson if the latter made any comments against Kavitha in the future.
TBGKS president B Venkat Rao, in a statement, condemned Rajender’s comments on Kavitha. Leaders and workers from six districts of the coal belt area had requested Kavitha to be the honorary president of TBGKS and now she was striving hard for the welfare of Singareni workers, he said.
Venkat Rao termed Rajender’s comments on Kavitha as ridiculous. Election of Kavitha as honorary president was not unexpected and she was elected unanimously in TBGKS central committee meeting in the presence of senior leaders from six districts of the coal belt area, he informed.
