Hyderabad: Prohibition and Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud here on Saturday took strong exception to remarks made by former Health Minister Eatala Rajender against Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
“Rajender is making remarks only to cover up his mistakes. If there is gap with the Chief Minister for the last six years then how Rajender became the Minister,” Goud asked while addressing a press conference along with Rajya Sabha member Banda Prakash and MLAs Y Anjaiah Yadav and Kaleru Venkatesh.
In spite of the gap, the Chief Minister gave respect to Rajender and made him the Minister. Rajender got the opportunity to supply fine variety of rice to the people in Telangana. “It is not advisable on the part of Rajender to make remarks on the Chief Minister,” he said.
Instead of Finance Minister T Harish Rao, the Chief Minister made Rajender as floor leader during erstwhile Andhra Pradesh as he has a strong belief in him. Rajender should think as why he was facing a situation to join the party, which he did not like, Goud said.
Rajender should do self-introspection as what was he before joining the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. “Rajender said that the Chief Minister did not call on poet-activist Varavara Rao, who got bail in Bhima-Koregaon case. But why is he joining the party that kept Varavara Rao in jail?” Goud questioned. Stating that Rajender was speaking out of frustration, the Minister said Rajender became MLA for half a dozen times because of TRS and the Chief Minister. The forthcoming contest in Huzurabad Assembly constituency would be between the party that was doing development and the party that was obstructing the development.
The Minister alleged the BJP was not cooperating in developing the State on all fronts. An opportunity was given to Rajender in the last five years to change but he could not mend his ways. Goud sought to know the role of Rajender, who said that the by-election in Huzurabad is nothing but ‘kurukshetrayudham’. However, the former Health Minister should not forget that he praised the Chief Minister in the Assembly. “Can he (Rajender) strive to reduce petrol and diesel prices and get a national project like Polavaram to the State after joining BJP?” he asked.
