Amaravati: The Election Commission (EC) has revised the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Andhra Pradesh, fixing November 30 as the date for final publication of the voters’ list.

In a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer of Andhra Pradesh, the Commission said the revised schedule followed a request from the State election machinery.

“The revised schedule for the SIR of electoral rolls in Andhra Pradesh sets November 30 as the date for final publication of the voters’ list,” the Commission said in the letter late on Thursday.

As per the revised schedule, the notice phase and disposal of claims and objections will be conducted from July 31 to November 20.

The Commission directed the officials concerned to communicate the revised schedule to all stakeholders and give it wide publicity.

Political parties must also be informed about the modified schedule in writing, the letter said.

The revision pertains to the SIR of electoral rolls, with July 1 as the qualifying date, it added.
