Hyderabad: After results were declared officially for the Jubilee Hills by-election, the Election Commission of India (ECI) lifted the ‘Model Code of Conduct’ (MCC) on Monday.
“Following the official declaration of results for the Jubilee Hills Assembly Constituency By-Election, the Election Commission of India has lifted the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) with immediate effect,” District Election Officer, R V Karnan, stated in an official statement on Monday.
The MCC came into force on October 6, the day the ECI announced the by-election schedule for the Jubilee Hills by-election. The by-election was held on November 11, and results were declared on November 14.
The MCC, which was in force since the announcement of the election schedule, no longer applies as the election process in the constituency is duly completed, said Karnan.
