ECIL honours Dr AS Rao on birth anniversary

Hyderabad: Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL), the Hyderabad-based PSU known for its hi-tech innovation and a solution provider for strategic sectors, celebrated the 108th birth anniversary of its founding father late Dr AS Rao on Monday.
The CMD of ECIL, Rear Admiral (Retd), Sanjay Choubey garlanded the statue of Dr A S Rao at the ECIL main gate. Speaking on the occasion, Rear Admiral (Retd) Sanjay Choubey reminded the contribution of Dr AS Rao in establishing ECIL in Hyderabad. He pointed out that Dr AS Rao was a great humanist, scientist and a visionary who had contributed in the fields of electronics to make the Country Atma-Nirbhar (self-reliant) in the field of strategic electronics.
The top ECIL official advised senior officers and employees of ECIL to carry forward the dreams and vision of Dr AS Rao. The CMD also urged the employees to develop and innovate in strategic electronics to make India Atma Nirbhar, according to the press release.
Apart from the CMD, senior officials including Director Personal, senior executives, secretary and president and office bearers of ECIL staff and worker union, office bearers of ECIL Officers association and large number of officers and employees paid their respects to late Dr AS Rao on the occasion.
Established on April 11, 1967, ECIL was set-up with a mandate to develop professional grade electronics equipment, especially for defence, Country’s nuclear program and other strategic needs. It was led by Dr AS Rao, who was working as the Head of the Electronics Division in Bhaba Atomic Research Centre (BARC).
