Karimnagar: Karimnagar Dairy Chairman Ch Rajeshwara Rao called upon the student community to educate the rural masses about the importance of dairy development, which helps in boosting the rural economy and providing employment to several households in the villages.
The Karimnagar Dairy Chairman was participating in the distribution of certificates to the students of BSc (food science) of KIMS degree and PG college in Karimnagar town on Monday, who had participated in 45-days internship on the dairy premises to learn various skills of dairy including processing, laboratory work, and other issues of dairying.
He interacted with the students about what they had learned from the Karimnagar dairy during their internship and how the dairy was providing employment to the farmers.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajeshwara Rao informed the students to educate the farming community to take up alternate sources of income through the dairy units. Stating that the farmers cannot fix price to their agriculture produce and they would be at the mercy of traders in the procurement, he said that the Karimnagar dairy farmers alone would fix price for their milk and secure income for every fortnight.
Taking up vegetable cultivation was also not viable to the farmers as they would not get the remunerative price to their hard-earned produce due to huge supply than the demand, he said that the dairy units alone would provide a regular and year-long source of income to the farmers. Besides, the dairy units also provide nutritional supplements to the entire family, he added.
Quoting the example of Chittoor district, where there was not a single suicide by the farming community in spite of dry region in the Andhra Pradesh state, he said that the farmers in Chittoor district were reaping riches because of taking up the alternate source of income through dairy units. He said that any individual, who takes up an alternate source of income, would excel in this present world of inflation.
He also called upon the students to accord priority to their career and reminded them that only hard work pays in life. Managing Director P Shankar Reddy and DGM Narsinga Rao were also present.
