Hyderabad: Effective management becomes critical in times of crisis such as what the world has been facing close to a year and we need to find a balance between what worked before and what needs to happen to succeed in the next normal, said MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao in his message to the Regional Management Conclave held on Wednesday.

The flagship event of the All India Management Association (AIMA) this year has been jointly organised virtually with the Hyderabad Management Association (HMA). President of HMA Sanjay Kapoor, who spoke about how people have to look at opportunities in times of adversity, stated that the association’s first industry readiness programme was a success with the students getting placements in Fortune 500 companies. Key note speaker Harsh Pati Singhania, president, AIMA, said India needs to have leapfrog strategies to transform.

The event had two plenary sessions with the themes ‘Marketing in Times of Crisis: Pivot or perish’ and ‘Post Pandemic Economy: From recovery to transformation.’ The conclave highlighted that the new therapies and the invention of the Covid-19 vaccine are positive developments, which will see the economy growing in double digits in the next fiscal.

Experts also emphasised the need to build resilience through technology, and India is giving a run for its money to digital giants such as Amazon, Facebook and Google who are now gaining from India’s digital platforms offered by companies such as Jio and AirTel.
