Efforts on to develop better civic facilities in Khammam: Puvvada

Khammam: Steps were being taken to fulfill the developmental aspirations of citizens in Khammam Municipal Corporation (KMC), stated Transport Minister, Puvvada Ajay Kumar.
The minister, riding on bicycle along with District Collector, VP Gautham, Commissioner of Police, Vishnu S Warrier and Municipal Commissioner, Anurag Jayanthi toured several divisions in KMC on Tuesday.
During his tour Ajay Kumar interacted with the residents and inspected ongoing developmental works at Prakash Nagar, Gollapadu modernisation, old bus stand and others. He directed the officials to speed up church compound junction and Gollapadu modernisation works.
After formation of the first council of KMC the cycle tour was taken up, once in every three months the municipal divisions were being visited since then to have first hand information on progress of works and the ground situation, the minister informed.
He told the municipal officials to identify suitable roads in one-town, two-town and Khanapuram Haveli areas to construct footpaths. As part of the green Khammam initiative, avenue plantation has to be taken up extensively in the city. Ajay Kumar asked the Commissioner of Police to take measures to install CCTV cameras to prevent crime and improve law and order situation in the city. The minister wanted public cooperation for the better execution of development works.
Later in the day, the minister laid the foundation stone for the works worth Rs 70 lakh under the Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited’s (HUDCO) Model Village Scheme at Manchukonda of Raghunathapalem mandal. Development works worth Rs 2.14 crores were launched in the villages in the mandal. SUDA Chairman, B Vijay Kumar, Additional DCP, Subhash Chandra Bose, assistant Municipal Commissioner, Mallishwari, R&B Executive Engineer, Shyam Prasad and others were present.
