Jagitial: District Collector G Ravi on Wednesday said local mangoes would be exported to international markets under the ‘Jagitial Mango’ brand, and steps would also be taken to create demand for the local mangoes in national and International markets.

The Collector was participating in mango farmers and traders coordination training meeting held at Polasa agriculture research center here. Jagitial, known for agriculture, produces the highest quantity of mangoes after paddy, he said, and assured that steps would be taken to provide better marketing facilities for Jagitial mangoes at the national and international level markets.
During the period of corona, traders brought labourers from other areas. At the same time, district administration had also arranged workers.

Besides making all arrangements, everything including collection of fruits, packing and sales was done through society for elimination of rural poor (SERP).

In order to provide more profits to farmers by educating them to grow mangoes by following organic farming methods, they have organised training programme.

Farmers would be educated on how to develop the existing mango orchards instead of destroying them as well as growing new ones. There was a chance to know new things through training programmes.

Collector warned to take action against traders who would use chemicals for ripening of fruits.
