Efforts on to fill Koil Sagar project: Srinivas Goud

Mahabubnagar: Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud on Saturday said efforts were being made to fill Koil Sagar, Jayamma Sagar and Jurala Project with Srisailam backwaters and ensure sufficient water in lakes and rivulets even during the Summer season. The Minister was speaking after inaugurating Rythu Vedikas constructed at different villages in Deverkadra mandal.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said before the State formation, the situation was pathetic. “Many people, especially those from Mahabubnagar migrated to different places in search of livelihood. But that is not the case anymore,” he said. “According top priority to the agricultural sector, the State Government had introduced Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, 24-hour free power supply and other schemes,” the Minister added.
Similarly, in tune with the development of urban areas, rural areas too are witnessing rapid development across the State, Srinivas Goud said. Apart from the provision of safe and potable drinking water to every household under Mission Bhagiratha, every village was now equipped with a nursery, tractor, tanker and focus were being laid on sanitation, he informed.
The Telangana government was striving for the welfare of farmers in the district. As part of Palamuru-Ranga Reddy lift irrigation project, Koil Sagar, Jurala projects and other tanks and lakes would be filled up with Srisailam backwaters, he informed. Later, he also inaugurated Rythu Vedikas at other places in the district.
