Efforts on to identify Dalit Bandhu beneficiaries: Narsampet MLA

Warangal: Skilled and enterprising youth from the poor Dalit families from one village in six mandals including a few wards in Narsampet town will have the first chance to get the Dalit Bandhu financial assistance in the Narsampet constituency in the district, according to local MLA Peddi Sudharshan Reddy.
Speaking to ‘Telangana Today’ over the phone, the TRS senior leader said that the process to identify the eligible had almost begun under the scheme aimed at transforming the oppressed community in the State. “To provide benefit to the poorest of the poor with enterprising attitude and skills in running units and in the marketing, we have resolved to select 15 to 18 eligible persons in six identified villages including some wards under the Narsampet municipality limits in the first phase. A total of 100 beneficiaries would get the assistance under the scheme,” he added.
As part of the identification process and assessing the demand for various businesses, and agriculture and construction machinery, Peddi Sudharshan Reddy has held a meeting with the Sarpanches, MPTCs, ZPTCs and other people’s representatives of the constituency at his camp office in Narsampet on Sunday. “Ramathreertham village of Nallabelli mandal, Budharaopet village of Khanapur mandal, Gurijala of Narsampet rural mandal, Lingagiri village of Chennaraopet mandal, Topanapally village of Nekkonda mandal and a few wards under the Narsampet municipality had been identified for the implementation of the scheme in the first phase,” he said and added the officials had already been directed to identify the beneficiaries.
“The list of selected candidates/joint-venture will be sent to the government through the district collector by February 5. Following this, the selected candidates have opened a bank account in the under the Dalit Bandhu scheme category as the government would transfer/deposit the money in those bank accounts,” the MLA said, and added that 2,000 more beneficiaries would be provided financial assistance under the scheme in March this year. “Thus a total of 2,100 people will get assistance under the Dalit Bandhu in this financial year,” he said and added that they were focusing more on successful implementation of the scheme by identifying the enthusiastic people from the poorest of the poor in the first phase.
