Hyderabad: Department of ESL Studies, English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), on Saturday organised a webinar on ‘English as a Second Language in a New Key’.
Participating in the webinar, SP Dhanavel, Professor of English in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology-Madras (IIT-M), emphasised that teachers should find solutions to the problems they face in assisting their students to develop English language skills, rather than relying on imported solutions.
One of the possible solutions to the challenges faced by the teachers is to be reflective practitioners and carry out action research, he said. The talk was attended by researchers, teachers and students from across the country.
