Hyderabad: The Department of Asian Languages, Foreign Languages University (EFLU), hosted a two-day Japanese Cultural Festival here on Friday.

Inaugurating the festival, EFLU Vice Chancellor, Prof N Nagaraju highlighted the significance of the event in fostering cross-cultural dialogue between India and Japan.

The EFLU Vice-Chancellor  remarked on the growing interest among Indians in not just the Japanese language, but also in traditional art forms like Origami and Haiku poetry, which are Japan’s contributions to global culture.

Consul General of Japan in Chennai Takahashi Muneo described the programme as a platform for promoting cultural exchange. He acknowledged the audience’s respect for Japanese culture and urged students to explore Japan’s heritage, language, and social norms.
