Hyderabad: In a coordinated late-night operation, the EAGLE Force of the Telangana State Task Force, along with Cyberabad Narcotics and Gachibowli police, raided a pub in Kondapur and identified eight persons for drug consumption on Thursday.
Following a tip-off about suspected substance abuse at a private event, six teams carried out a surprise check at ‘Quake Arena Pub’ without disrupting the gathering. “Selected attendees were screened using on-the-spot testing kits, which confirmed drug use among eight individuals,” said an official from EAGLE Force.
Police said the substances detected included marijuana, benzodiazepines and methamphetamine. The individuals reportedly admitted to consumption during questioning. Their details have been documented, and authorities plan to involve families to facilitate de-addiction measures.
The Gachibowli police have booked a case under sections of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is on to trace the supply networks.
Officials also clarified that the visiting foreign DJ and the in-house DJ tested negative during the raids.
