Eight held in Hyderabad for killing man over ganja dispute
Attapur police arrested eight persons for allegedly beating a man to death following a dispute over Rs.700 meant for ganja purchase. The victim, Mohammed Hussain alias Waseem from Langer Houz, was attacked with metal knuckles on Attapur Road on Saturday night.

Hyderabad: The Attapur police on Monday arrested eight persons who had allegedly brutally beaten up a man on Attapur Road two days ago, resulting in his death.
The suspects were identified as K Prashanth, Mitta Jagadeesh, Ram Roshan Yadav, G Tarun Kumar, A Nikhil, G Raj Kumar, K Vengal Rao and M Prashanth.
According to the Attapur police, the victim, Mohammed Hussain alias Waseem, a resident of Langer Houz, allegedly took Rs.700 from the prime suspect, Prashanth, assuring him that he would provide ganja. However, he neither supplied the ganja nor returned the money.
A dispute arose between Prashanth and Hussain, following which the former allegedly caught hold of Hussain on Attapur Road on Saturday night. Soon, Prashanth’s friends joined him, and the group of 10 persons allegedly beat up Hussain with metal knuckles on his head, leading to his death, said Attapur Inspector K Nageshwar Rao.
The police are making efforts to nab two more suspects who are absconding.
